Customised Snooker Cue

I have been playing with this snooker cue fo 2 years now. I play 8 ball pool (billiards for the US) to a pretty high level and am captain of a top 4 side in my city's premier league.
This is a good cue made by the same person who makes Mark William's cue (He is on eof the best Pro snooker players.)
It does have some extensions to go with it which are a plain ebony
mini butt and a telescopic full length extension. No reaching for the 50 year old tobacco stained long reach cues for me.
It currently has a kingwood wedge with a white and then pink sycamore veneered wedge but I am pretty bored with its appearance and I like playing with these veneers at the moment so I thought it would be cool to try and put my own mark on it.
Maybe a bad idea but I intend on sanding a thing amount of the wedge of the butt and adding a birds eye maple top veneer with my own mark on the end.
The first step was to sand and I forgot to take pictures of that. Then I glued the strip of veneer on which I 'clamped down' with masking tape and left for a day.
The second picture shows the result.
I then sanded the veneer level with the countours of the cue until it felt perfectly round in my hand. This was followed by me putting my nickname on the butt end(with some nice cheesy font reflective stickers which were in the sale for 30p in Tescos.)
The final step was to spray around 30 thin layers of lacquer over the whole of the butt followed by sanding from P400 right through to P1200 and then I polished it with car colour restorer.
The end result is goo, not perfect as the veneer doesn't look stright due to sanding it into the contours over the wedge but I'm happy enough with it.
Although you can see with the eye that the lettering is raised from the cue the lacquer over the top is perfectly flush.
