Nursery island
April 2009
At this point the glosso wasn't doing so well, the fry weren't surviving the 400lph of the powerhead even though it was limited and therefore I decided to turn this into an emersed start setup with some HC I took from my nursery.
I also purchased an inline needle valve, nano diffuser, bubble counter, NRV and barbed t-connector to branch off my CO2 to this tank. An external 200lph Boyu filter was also bought at this time.
The pictures below show the emersed growth at 7/4, 7/4, 17/4, 21/4.

After a month of battles this scape had to be pulled apart prematurely. Within days of filling the emersed setup Cyanobacteria started and once it got pretty bad with me trying to clean the substrate thoroughly and add more than enough nitrates I decided to syphon all the Cyano out and then do a 5 day blackout.
This worked a treat and at the same time the Corys had a huge spawn where there were 119 wrigglers. Once they were a week old they went into this tank.
However after a few days
there numbers were down to a single survivor and the cyano was coming back so I had to pull the whole scape apart and give it a good clean. The substrate was ditched and replaced and I rescaped which of course means a seperate journal for the new aquascape.
