The hardscape items were cleaned up from the previous aquascape. Then the plants (again from the previous aquascape) were cleaned up and roots were trimmed. Finally the top layers of sand were removed and rinsed. Whilst this was out of the tank the rest (Tropica substrate, Leonardite and remaining sand) was mixed well together before the rinsed sand was replaced.
With the tank ready for setting up I started attaching the Ferns and Anubias to the redmoor wood hardscape with superglue.
Next step was to put the hardscape into the tank.
Finally I added cobbles and pebbles around the base of the wood ready to fill up.
After this the water was quite cloudy and made it hard work to plant the Crypts therefore for the first week I will be running a Fluval3+ internal filter alongside the Eheim to help clear the water. It will also have 3 x 50% water changes in this first week.
