Once upon a time at the riverbank

1st April 2009

The Rasboras are still looking great after a month in the tank. There are 21 now as there have been 4 jumpers.

The plants are growing and there have been a few melted crypt leaves but overall not too many. A few of the ferns and anubias leaves must've dried out a little too much whilst I was rescaping and they are gradually disintegrating, but no algae whatsoever.

27th May 2009

I have been having some troubles with my Corys over the past few weeks in that they were suffering from white/grey patches and some fin damage.

I think it was probably initially a bacterial problem which then cause fungla problems.

So for the last few weeks I have had had pretty cloudy water whilst I administered some homemade treatments namely for te first couple of weks a mixture made with Formaldehyde which should rid the bacteria and 'preserve' any dead cell matter on the fishes.

This was followed by a week of a Pimafix+Melafix copy (some people on the net call this PimaFake and MelaFake.)

The troubles seem to be over and after a couple of heavy water changes today I decided to take some pictures of the aquascape.
