Today some Acetal 6mm rod that I ordered arrived. Only cost £3 for 1 metre. I instantly set to work. I must slow down and not let my refound motivation make me rush these things.
Firstly I drilled the dot marker holes to about 3mm deep
and then cut the rod into 5mm pieces. A dab of superglue into the hole and just over the sides and in went the rod.
Once all the 5mm pieces were in the holes I grabbed a stanley blade and scraped them level with the neck face. Came out really smooth and shiny.

Onto the body. With it now stripped back to the mahogany I re-veneered it yesterday. I then mixed up the green spirit dye and gave it a couple of rub overs. I think I did it a little too dark this time but still it looks nice.
I then sprayed lacquer over the face to protect it a little and put it away in the cupboard.
Unfortunately with my new motivation I let myself rush some things. Nothing wrong with the guitar but I didn't notice that the binding I ordered is smaller than the binding I originally put on and therefore the groove that is there from the original binding is too large. Therefore I will now have to get some larger binding which leads me to another holdup. Money is real tight so I will have to wait to buy that.
