EZ Checks Premium High Security Check Paper with Hologram | 500 Sheets (Green/Yellow, Check at Top)

Very happy with these. The main nit I have to pick is that they do not have an alignment box. The MICR code on the checks has to be printed in a specific location on the check with only a small margin for error. The best blank checks have a lightly printed alignment mark so that you have confirm that the MICR code is printed in the correct place on the check. These blanks do not have such a code.At first I lined up the MICR code by comparing where they were printed on these checks to where they were printed on other checks, but then I realized that the other checks (a) had alignment boxes) and (b) were within tolerance, but still not well aligned. It took quite a bit of work to for me to be confident the printed codes were in the right place.Other nits: In these days of mobile deposits via photo, I don’t know how important these anti-forgery protections are, but I do want the check to live up to the list of protections it has listed on its back, and it falls slightly short. Much better than some other checks I have bought (and returned) from Amazon, but still, room for improvement.- The foil isn’t really a hologram, and some of the text is so small it’s hard to make out. In particular, in one space it says “VALIDVALID” but it is so small that I thought at first it said “VOIDVOID”. The foil does change appearance significantly depending on the angle of the light, so I will give it a pass on not being a true hologram.- The heat sensitive ink does not fade enough for me to feel confident it has really faded from the heat. If you really look carefully, you will see that it has faded some, but other documents I’ve seen have been more obvious with the fading.- It does have a true watermark, but it is pretty fuzzy even for a watermark.- The microprint on the front says “ORIGINAL DOCUMENT” which is great. However, the check also states that it has “Microprint on backer” and so I expected something like “ORIGINAL DOCUMENT” in microprint to show up on back. I guess they mean that the printing on the back, which appears gray, is really made up of alternating black and white and the black dots are small enough to count as microprint, but it’s confusing at best.I didn’t not try out it’s resistance to erasure, removing toner, or chemical alteration. I will give them the benefit of the doubt on that.
